Gallery Bosom is a rubber frame measuring 6*6*0,3 cm, it was established in June 1996 together with gallery Showcase and gallery Concha. A pin is fastened on the backside of the gallery so the entire gallery can be pinned on your or somebody else's bosom/chest. Because of it's modest size and nature, exhibitions in the gallery will become a kind of ever-traveling-shows, depending on the mobility of the bearer. The choice of the bearer is an essential part of the artists contribution.

  • The artist exhibiting at the gallery has to choose a bearer which is ready to bear the gallery, more or less during the exhibition period.
  • Works shown in the gallery Bosom will become a property of the gallery after the exhibition and form a collection.
  • Information on the exhibition and the artist will be found in Icelandic leading newspapers.
  • Exhibitions start and end on the first Saturday of each month.
  • Gallery Bosom is an individual part of the Showspace Galleries.
Sigtryggur Bjarni Baldvinsson and Tinna Gunnarsdóttir established Gallery Bosom and are the directors of the gallery and the museum. Birgir Snæbjörn Birgisson became the director of the gallery while they stayed in Italy.
