Gallery Showcase is a white wooden box with transparent Plexiglas front, it was established in June 1996 together with gallery Bosom and gallery Concha. It is situated on a wall of an outside corridor at Vatnsstígur 3, Reykjavík (the corridor leads to "The Living Art Museum"), and is open 24 hours of each day. It's inside measurements are about 60*60*30 cm. The box is equipped and illuminated with electricity.
  • The participating artist is supposed to introduce his ideas to the gallery board for discussion.
  • The form and scale of the private view is a matter of agreement between the artist and the gallery board.
  • Information on the exhibition and the artist will be found in Icelandic leading newspapers.
  • Exhibitions start and end on the first Saturday of each month.
  • Gallery Showcase is an individual part of the Showspace Galleries.

Arnfinnur Róbert Einarsson, Gunnar Magnús Andrésson and
Pétur Örn Friðriksson where the directors of gallery Concha. In 1999 Jón Bergmann Kjartansson teamed up as main director.
